Celtic hero Chris Sutton says Kieran Tierney could be a good fit to become the next captain of Premier League giants Arsenal.
The former Celtic left-back from Muirhouse has emerged as a fans' favourite at the Gunners since his 2019 arrival in London.
Despite his spell being partly hampered by injury, Tierney's performances have won him several plaudits south of the border.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is looking for a new captain after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was stripped of the honour earlier this month after a disciplinary breach.
Following Tierney's goal in a 5-0 hammering of Norwich City on Sunday, Sutton claimed that Tierney's desire has him poised as a good fit for leadership.
He told the BBC: “I’ve always followed him closely because of his time up at Celtic, getting into the team at a young age.
"The thing I like about Tierney, I don’t think he’s the finished article yet, but he is so, so committed in every game.
“That’s why a lot of Arsenal fans would give him the captaincy. Robbie (Savage) said the same.
"That is because of that. It is fair to say that Arsenal have lacked leaders over the years and that’s one of the issues Mikel Arteta has had to deal with.”
