Former Celtic star Tierney's Arsenal frustrations assessed with pundit hinting transfer option amid 'problem brewing'

Former Celtic star Kieran Tierney may aim to leave Arsenal if he isn't playing, amid a testing run of matches.

The Scotland international from Muirhouse hasn't played for the Gunners since October 18th against Crystal Palace, despite being fit since November.

Tierney joined Arsenal in 2019 from Celtic and while he has impressed for the Premier League club, his stint has been disrupted by injury.

Nuno Tavares has started the last four matches for head coach Mikel Arteta while the Muirhouse man has been fit.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes that the 24-year-old may need to look at moving if he can't dislodge Tavares.

Keown told TalkSport: "The manager might not believe in Tierney as much we believe in him. The manager didn't want to drop Tavares after one mistake, he kept him in.

"I think there is a problem brewing for Tierney.

"He's a really quality player, he's a leader, and he's the type of defender Arsenal fans have wanted for years.

"Now he's not in the team. He's not getting near to getting on in any of the games.

"He has to keep his head down and not become a problem.

"He strikes me as someone who won’t [stay] if he’s not getting a game.”
