Former Celtic star signed up for Lanarkshire derby coverage on Hamilton Accies TV

Former Motherwell youngster Paul Slane will be the guest pundit on AcciesTV for the Lanarkshire derby on Wednesday.

The 29 year-old has shot to fame on popular Scottish football podcast Open Goal alongside host Si Ferry.

Slane made his debut for Motherwell against Hamilton back in 2009 before moving to Celtic in 2010.

The former Scotland youth internationalist joked about appearing on AcciesTV earlier in the season but it's now a reality.

Marcus Nash, Head of Communications at Hamilton Academical, said: "Slaney has made a few remarks on Open Goal about coming on our TV channel and he also made a remark about Accies going down.

"Hopefully it will come back to bite him when Accies stay up.

"So we think it would be quite funny to get him on and he's obviously a personality himself.

"He played for Motherwell briefly and obviously came through their youth system.

"We are bringing him on the show because he's made the plea and we think he will be fantastic. We think he will be great, it will be unique and can attract a different audience.

"We are really looking forward to welcoming him on the day."

The only place to watch the massive Lanarkshire derby is on AcciesTV and the fixture will cost £15.

It's a huge game for Hamilton as they look to climb out the relegation places while Motherwell can secure their top flight status next season with a point.
