Liam Henderson draped himself in a giant Saltire as he celebrated helping Hellas Verona win promotion to Serie A last night.
The former Celtic midfielder was loving life after ensuring he will become only the fourth Scottish player to play in the Italian top flight after Graeme Souness , Joe Jordan and Denis Law.
Henderson has enjoyed a strong season in the second tier of Italian football and topped it off with a starring role in Verona's stunning fightback to beat Cittadella in the promotion play-off final.
The Scot's side trailed 2-0 going into the second leg. But goals from Zaccagni, Di Carmine and Laribi turned the tie on it's head.
Speaking on Twitter afterwards, Henderson beamed: "Serie A baby! What a day, what a team, god bless."
The 23-year-old started the tie on the right side of midfield and came close to scoring himself when he forced a save from Alberto Paleari with Verona well on top.
He was subbed in the second half before the late drama which saw Verona clinch promotion.
It seals a sensational turnaround for the former Hoops youngster whose young brother Ewan made his own breakthrough at Parkhead this season.
The elder Henderson moved to Italy last season after a spell on loan at Hibs in which he helped the Leith club win the Scottish Cup .
He joined Bari but the fallen giant's plunge into bankruptcy saw his spell there end abruptly and he soon followed coach Fabio Grosso to Hellas Verona.
A topsy-turvy season ended with Henderson's side finishing fifth - enough to clinch a play-off spot. And after beating Perugia and Pescara came last night's stunning triumph over Cittadella.
