Former Celtic star Anthony Stokes targeted for Livingston move

Livingston want Anthony Stokes to replace Lyndon Dykes.

The Lions are in the market for a new striker after selling Dykes to Queen’s Park Rangers in a £2 million club record deal this week.

Livi have now made a move to land the former Republic of Ireland and Celtic star, reports The Daily Record.

The 32-year-old is a free agent after he returned from Iranian club Persepolis following the COVID-19 lockdown.

Livingston are set to offer a one-year deal.

If all goes well he could be available to make his debut away to Aberdeen on Sunday.

Stokes has been much travelled in recent years after spells with Apollon Smyrni, Tractor and Adana Demirspor before he returned to Iran.

The talented forward, however, has produced some of his best football in Scotland during his spells with Celtic, Falkirk and when helping Hibs to lift the Scottish Cup.
