Former Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal reveals panic in Israel as he predicts Scotland postponement

Israel star Beram Kayal feels the incredible seriousness of the coronavirus crisis means that UEFA should move to cancel Euro 2020 chaos.

And the midfielder insists that the self-isolation and lock down we have seen in Italy are coming to the UK.

Scotland are due to face Israel at the end of this month, but UEFA are expected to confirm all future games are postponed when they hold their conference calls with their members on Tuesday.

FIFA have already advised that all games are postponed until a later date.

And former Celtic hero Kayal - whose brother is a doctor in his homeland - has called for football to be forgotten about just now.

He said: "There's no point to football. There's a lot of ailments in the world, but there's never been anything of this intensity.

"This virus will impact on everyone. In football and politics, everyone needs to unite to minimise damage.

"My brother is a doctor in Israel and he has told me the stories of panic. I also have family there, so it is a huge worry.

"From what he has told me, it will take at least a year and a half to find a cure and only the weather will slow it.

"Everything needs to be called off for a long time. The situation is deteriorating every day and we have been told that we will be in the same position as in Italy in about two weeks.

"The only chance the game against Scotland would have gone ahead is behind closed doors, but that won't happen now either."
