Former Celtic defender makes James Forrest Ibrox claim and predicts Hoops hero could miss out for Scotland

Mark Wilson has queried whether James Forrest is fully fit with heading into Scotland's double-header with Russia and Belgium.

Celtic 's key wide man is in the form of his life and has netted six times in 12 games for Neil Lennon 's side this season.

The 28-year-old makes the Hoops tick but he came off after 66 minutes on Sunday during the 2-0 win over Rangers.

Forrest, has trained all week for the national team, is set to feature in tonight's do-or-die clash with Russia at Hampden.

Wilson, who was a Celtic team-mate of the winger, reckons Robert Snodgrass could be in the mix to start for Steve Clarke's side if there is an injury issue.

He told Superscoreboard : "I wonder if maybe a Snodgrass could play ahead of maybe James Forrest. Listen, he's been terrific.

"You see him on Sunday and he was stretching continually and was hardly involved. I wonder if it's carried on that injury. I wonder if he's fully fit."

Scotland know a victory against Stanislav Cherchesov's side will reinvigorate the national team's quest to reach Euro 2020.
