Former Celtic and Hearts star Mike Galloway dies aged 60

  • Former Celtic and Hearts footballer Mike Galloway has passed away at the age of 60.
  • Galloway, who was utilised as a defender and a midfielder, spent two years at Hearts between 1987 and 1989, before going on to play for Celtic from 1989 to 1996.
  • Hearts announced his passing on Wednesday morning, and sent condolences to Galloway’s family and friends.
  • Galloway was born in England but earned one international cap for Scotland, and also played club football for Berwick Rangers, Mansfield Town, Halifax Town and Leicester City.
  • He was forced to call time on his playing career in 1995 after a near-fatal car crash, and later went into coaching as he remained heavily involved in the game.
