Airdrie have completed the signing of defender Sam Wardrop on a one-year deal after he left Dumbarton.
The former Scotland youth international is capable of playing in a variety of positions and his addition will bolster Ian Murray's squad.
The 23 year-old progressed through Celtic's academy before moving to Dundee United in 2018 and after two loan spells at Dumbarton, he signed permanently last summer.
Despite finishing second bottom in League One last season, Dumbarton had the joint-second best defensive record and Wardrop is targeting a title win with the Diamonds next season.
Wardrop told Airdrie's website: “I’m happy to get this sorted - I’m very ambitious as a player, as I know the club and manager are here.
“Airdrie had a good season finishing second, and the only way to move forward from that is to win the title. I’m a winner, and that’s what I want to do.
“I’m looking forward to coming here and working with the players and the management.”
Diamonds boss Ian Murray added: "We’re obviously delighted to get Sam, who had a very good season at Dumbarton.
"I was impressed with their defensive unit last season, they were very solid and hard to beat.
“Sam comes in having been at big clubs in Celtic and Dundee United, and we feel this is a good platform for him to improve.
"We’re really happy to add more quality and balance to the squad.”
