Former Celtic and AC Milan star Massimo Donati announced as Kilmarnock coach

Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio has today added the first new member to his backroom staff.

Former Celtic and AC Milan midfielder Massimo Donati has joined the Rugby Park side as a coach.

Donati started his playing career at Atalanta in 1999 before spending six years at Milan.

He had a number of loan spells before swapping the San Siro for Celtic Park in 2007.

The 38-year-old spent two years at Celtic, making 43 appearances, and then headed back to his native Italy.

Donati then had two stints in Scotland as he made 41 appearances for Hamilton Accies before playing just one game for St Mirren last year.

He will be unveiled to the media today alongside new gaffer Alessio when they take part in their first Killie press conference.
