Former Cardinals WR coach Darryl Drake dies at age 62

There is a feeling of mourning for many around the NFL today. The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the death of Darryl Drake, who was their wide receivers coach.

Drake joined the Steelers coaching staff last year after five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals under Bruce Arians. He was 62 years old. No cause of death was immediately reported.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II released the following statement:

Darryl had such an impact on the players he coached and everyone he worked with throughout his entire career. He was a passionate coach and had a tremendous spirit toward life, his family, his faith and the game of football.

The Cardinals issued a statement via social media as well.

Others currently or previously part of the Cardinals organization have reacted.

We express our condolences as well.
