Former Cardinals OL Alan Faneca named to Pro Football Hall of Fame

He only played one season for the Arizona Cardinals, but it counts. Former Cardinals offensive lineman Alan Faneca is a Hall of Famer.

Named as a finalist for the sixth time, he was announced Saturday as part of the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Faneca had a 13-year NFL career. He made a name for himself with the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Pittsburgh, he was selected to eight straight Pro Bowls and was a six-time All-Pro. When he went to the New York Jets in 2007, he stretched his run of Pro Bowls two more seasons to 10 in a row.

He played his final season with the Cardinals in 2010. He won a Super Bowl with the Steelers

He was considered one of the best guards of his generation.

It is well deserved. Interior linemen are often overlooked, but with Steve Hutchinson inducted last year and Faneca this year, perhaps that will change in the years to come.
