Former Cardinals DT Robert Nkemdiche was really out of shape

The Arizona Cardinals released former first-round pick Robert Nkemdiche almost a month ago with a failed-physical designation. Coming off a torn ACL, he showed up to camp out of shape and overweight.

The Miami Dolphins signed him a couple of weeks later, and he was placed on the PUP.

Apparently, not much has changed.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Nkemdiche is still incredibly out of shape. He could not run the width of the field and back.

Robert Nkemdiche, who joined the Dolphins a couple of weeks ago and is on active/PUP, doesn't seem to be in any sort of football shape. Tried to run gassers pregame and could not complete run across field (53 1/3 yards) and all the way back.

How did it get to that point?

It started with missing rehab sessions, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. His condition at the beginning of camp was a surprise to teammates.

This is likely no surprise for Cardinals fans. Unless he gets it together, Nkemdiche will go down as one of the biggest wastes of physical talent in recent years.
