After two years of grinding it out in the CFL with the Hamilton Tigercats, former BYU OL Ryker Mathews receives his rewards with a contract with the New England Patriots.
Mathews came out of BYU an undrafted free-agent before landing with the New Orlean Saints. But a pre-season injury held him back from ever seeing the field. Surgery and time in the CFL did Mathews good as he has been reaping the benefits of his hard work.
Now, two years older, strong, and more confident, Mathews is now coming back to the NFL – this time for New England.
