Former Browns DE Chase Winovich announces his retirment

Former defensive end of the Cleveland Browns, Chase Winovich, announced his retirement via his Instagram on Tuesday. The defensive end played in eight games for the Browns last season after starting the season on Injured Reserve. Winovich recorded one sack, three quarterback hits, and 20 tackles during his time in Cleveland. The defensive end was best known in Cleveland for his playful demeanor. He was a much-needed character in a defensive end room filled with some resentment by veteran leaders

The Browns traded Mack Wilson Jr. to the Patriots for Winovich in the spring of 2022. Winovich will be best remembered for his time in New England where he played the majority of his career, amassing 11 sacks, and 85 tackles in his three years there.

Winovich was signed to the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins this year. Winovich played in three games for the Dolphins this season, before being released last week. Winovich retires after playing five seasons in the NFL. He was a college standout at the University of Michigan and made two All-Big Ten teams during his time in Ann Arbor. We’re hoping Winovich does just as well in his second career.
