Former Bristol City target set to join Championship rivals from Rangers

Defender Lee Wallace is set to swap one Rangers for another according to widespread reports.

Wallace, 31, who is out of contract at Ibrox, is expected to make the move to Queens Park Rangers in coming days.

A number of clubs were linked with moves for the defender back in January including Bristol City.

He has made more than 200 appearances for the Gers, many as skipper and with the likes of the Robins interested, some had suggested it would have been time for the defender to move on so his club could have earned some money from the deal as he will now sign as a free agent.

However Gers manager Steven Gerrard said no club had made an official offer for the Rangers star in the midseason window.

Wallace and goalkeeper Liam Kelly are reported to have both agreed personal terms with QPR and are set to formally complete their moves to Loftus Road.

According to multiple media reports, the club are hoping to confirm the deals in the coming days.

Kelly, 23, will join the R’s from Livingston and is understood to have been brought in to compete for a place with Joe Lumley, while Matt Ingram will be made available for a move.
