Former Bristol City and Nottingham Forest defender jumps into crowd to confront fan at non-league game

Former Bristol City defender George Elokobi jumped into the stands last night to confront a fan at the end of Maidstone United's draw with Braintree Town.

The incident happened moments after Maidstone had conceded a last-minute equaliser to Elokobi's former club Braintree in a 1-1 draw in the National League South.

Aftermath from the clash can be seen in the video below - but viewer discretion is advised, with the club containing some strong language.

It is unclear what caused Elokobi to confront the supporter, with Braintree fans on social media denying any allegations of racist abuse.

In the video, a fan can be heard saying "Don't lose your head, George, you're better than that."

Elokobi played one game for Bristol City on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2012.

He was brought in by the Robins to cover for the injured Greg Cunningham, yet his loan was cut short after he fractured and dislocated his ankle on his debut against Leeds United.

The 33-year-old has had a long playing career, which has also taken in spells at the likes of Colchester United, Nottingham Forest and Leyton Orient.
