Authorities have found the body of former Dragon 5 boy band member Thaman 'Tae' Taepun in the Chao Phraya River near Rama VII Bridge in Nonthaburi province, following his girlfriend's report to police that he had gone missing during a routine cycling outing.
Walaiphan Srinaphaphan, 42, said her 46-year-old boyfriend left their home at around 4am on Thursday, riding a cream-coloured bicycle.
Thaman was seen turning right towards the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) office on Rama VII Road in Bang Kruai district, dressed in cycling gear and carrying a black backpack. He did not take his mobile phone with him.
Thaman did not return home and could not be reached, prompting Ms Walaiphan to ask police for help locating him. She said the disappearance was out of character.
She said Thaman had always carried his phone with him on previous rides and would return home immediately afterwards, adding that he had never gone missing like this before.
She said she had called all his close friends, but none of them had seen him.
