Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood has refused to rule out the possibility of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld moving to Arsenal next summer.
The Belgian duo are both out of contract at Spurs in the summer, alongside Christian Eriksen.
With the three contract rebels looking unlikely to sign new deals, talk has already begun about where they could end up.
Sherwood first spoke about the impact losing the trio could have on Mauricio Pochettino's squad.
Speaking on Sky Sports' The Debate, he said: "Alderweireld looks like he's going to move and at 30, it's probably the last time. Jan Vertonghen at 32, it's probably the last time they're going to fill the till up and it's a short career.
"They need to do that, perhaps China, but Chinese clubs don't take defenders very often. The last moves of their career, they're probably waiting for that big one just to come.
"I remember when I was at Tottenham and Sol Campbell left. Daniel Levy vowed he would never lose anyone on a free transfer again. Now they look like they're going to lose three players at the end of the season.
"Hopefully not. Hopefully, they can persuade them to stay and sign new contracts but to lose those three players for £0 is really not good business."
Going back to Campbell's move, which saw him swap sides of north London, Sherwood refused to rule out the possibility of Vertoghen and Alderweireld the following suit.
Given Arsenal's obvious defensive issues, the former Spurs boss believes the pair would be great additions to Unai Emery's squad, labelling them "the best centre-half pair to have played in the Premier League in the last five years".
He added: "Listen, Sol Campbell went to Arsenal and look what happened, he won all of those trophies.
"If, now you think about it if you look at it, what do Arsenal need? Centre-halves.
"You've got the two best centre-half pairing in the last five years in the Premier League, in Vertonghen and Alderweireld.
"Together, they are incredible."
