Former Borussia Dortmund striker says he learned more under Thomas Tuchel than Jurgen Klopp

Former Borussia Dortmund forward Adrian Ramos has opened up on his experiences of working under both Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Ramos joined Dortmund in 2014 while Klopp was still in charge of the German club, and then spent two seasons under Tuchel when he took over the following summer.

Despite his success with Dortmund, Klopp's final season there was his most difficult, with the team finishing in a disappointing seventh position in the Bundesliga.

And speaking to Sport BILD, Ramos admitted he never felt "trusted" by Klopp at the Westfalenstadion.

"It is part of football that you have a better connection with one coach than the other, he said.

"I'm not blaming Klopp, the season was very tough for him too. It's about trust. And even though I learned a lot under Klopp, I only felt his trust at the beginning."

Ramos was clearly more impressed with Tuchel when he came in, and lifted the lid on what makes the Blues boss so special.

"With Thomas, the fun and learning factor was much greater for me," he continued.

"He taught us to bring more control into our game, but still get in depth quickly with possession. I liked his philosophy.

“Thomas is obsessed with football and places extremely high demands on his players, especially in the tactical field. Anyone who does not meet these requirements has a problem.

"Then Thomas can get very loud very quickly and sometimes say things that hurt."

Klopp and Tuchel are currently enjoying contrasting fortunes in England.

Liverpool are on a torrid run of form which is somewhat reminiscent of Klopp's final season at Dortmund.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are yet to be beaten since Tuchel took over in January, and have given themselves a great chance of finishing in a Champions League qualification spot.
