Former Bolton NatWest branch can be turned into new restaurant

Plans to convert a former bank into a new restaurant have been given the green light by Bolton Council .

The vacant NatWest branch at 213 Derby Street is set to be used as a cafe or restaurant now that an application has been given the nod.

The branch was closed in 2015, and has stood empty ever since.

The proposed development could create around 10 to 12 additional full time and part time jobs, according to the proposal.

The applicant, Mr J Patel, also intends to cater for college and university students, given the site’s close proximity to the campus.

No external alterations will be made to the building but there will be some changes internally.

The operating hours will be 11am to 11pm throughout the week.
