Former Birmingham Post editor to launch website

Former Birmingham Post editor Marc Reeves plans to launch a new business website which could compete with his old paper, according to reports.
Reeves and two former colleagues are on the verge of launching a Midlands version of TheBusinessDesk.com, the online business news service which covers Yorkshire and the North West, Hold the Front Page reports.
Reeves is not commenting, but stories have appeared on The Drum, the Scottish media site he writes for, and on Jon Slattery's blog.
Former Yorkshire Post business editor David Parkin launched TheBusinessDesk.com in November 2007 and the North-West edition followed in September 2008. The site now has 28,000 subscribers and employs five journalists. Trinity Mirror can't be too happy about all of that.
