Former Bengals RB Mark Walton secures deal with Dolphins

Mark Walton didn’t need long to find a new job.

The Cincinnati Bengals cut Walton, their fourth-round pick in 2018 due to his three different arrests in 2019. The Miami Dolphins came out of the draft and invited Walton to camp as a tryout.

Walton now has a gig after the tryout, which was tucked into a Dolphins release among other moves.

This one wasn’t hard to see coming. New Dolphins coach Brian Flores made it rather obvious how this would play out.

“I think people deserve a second chance,” Flores said, according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “I believe that. I think that’s the case. I don’t want to judge people based on one incident. Two incidents. I think it’s a case-by-case situation for a player and for people in general. That’s kind of my stance.”

Walton faces a slew of pending criminal charges from his three arrests. The Bengals decided to make a statement under their new head coach by letting him go, bringing on rookies Trayveon Williams and Rodney Anderson behind Giovani Bernard and Joe Mixon.
