Former Bengals RB Mark Walton gets tryout with Dolphins

Mark Walton is already getting another chance with an NFL team.

Zac Taylor and the Bengals cut the 2018 fourth-round pick in April. Walton was arrested three different times in 2019 and faced various charges before the Bengals cut ties. Taylor briefly spoke on the “unfortunate” situation and that was that.

But Walton has surfaced again with the Miami Dolphins on a tryout basis, which was perhaps the only place he’d get one last shot given his Miami Hurricanes background. Those Dolphins boast Kenyan Drake and another fourth-rounder from last year, Kalen Ballage, at the top of the depth chart.

As for the Bengals, they comfortably moved on with Trayveon Williams and Rodney Anderson in the sixth round. Initially, Walton was pegged as Giovani Bernard insurance if the veteran leaves after next season.

That job now falls to Williams and Anderson.
