Former Bengals QB Carson Palmer joining Cardinals Ring of Honor

Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is headed for the Ring of Honor — with the Arizona Cardinals.

One year removed from retirement, the Cardinals announced Palmer will join the prestigious group as the 18th member. He played five seasons with the team, going 38-21-1 for the best winning percentage in team history and went to an NFC title game in 2015.

Of course, Palmer spent seven seasons with the Bengals before his first retirement and eventual trade to Oakland. We’ve later found out Palmer had three demands the team refused to meet, hence his retirement.

Palmer going to the Cardinals Ring of Honor after just five seasons paints the Bengals in a tough light, especially given their spotty track record at honoring past greats besides the 50th-anniversary celebration.

Here’s an interesting note from Palmer’s reaction below: “Five years was not enough. I wish I would have gotten there earlier, as you know, but I am beyond honored and I can’t wait. That’s amazing. That’s great news!”
