Former Bengals OT Cedric Ogbuehi signs with Jags

After bringing him in for a visit this week, the Jacksonville Jaguars and former Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi agreed to terms on a deal. The details haven’t been revealed, but the move is one that gives the team depth and competition on their offensive line.

Ogbuehi, 26, was a former first-round pick of the Bengals and was drafted with the No. 21 pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. While there, he didn’t quite pan out to their expectations, but started in 12 games at right tackle in 2016 and 13 other games at left tackle during his tenure. In 2018, he didn’t register a start but managed to participate in two games.

The Jags released right tackle Jermey Parnell this offseason and one would think Ogbuehi is a candidate to win his vacancy. However, most tend to think the Jags’ fourth-round pick Will Richardson has more upside and will be the starting right tackle in 2019 unless the team selects a right tackle high this April. Ultimately, time will tell.
