Former Bengals DE Jordan Willis claimed by Jets

It didn’t take long for former Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Jordan Willis to find a new home.

The former third-round pick was claimed by the New York Jets on Wednesday after sending wide receiver Quincy Enunwa to injured reserve.

Willis wasn’t long for the Cincinnati roster after the team kept 11 defensive linemen coming out of final cuts, yet only four linebackers.

The Bengals waived Willis to make room for free-agent linebacker LaRoy Reynolds.

Willis gets a fresh start in a new defensive scheme with the Jets that could end up better utilizing some of his big upside. It was clear in Week 1 while Willis was inactive that he wouldn’t get that sort of chance in Cincinnati unless several injuries occurred.
