Former Bengals 2nd-round pick Margus Hunt cashes in with Colts

A former Cincinnati Bengals draft pick is cashing in this offseason.

Margus Hunt, a Bengals second-round pick in 2013, just inked a new deal with the Indianapolis Colts:

Hunt was a project upon arrival with the Bengals, but his 6’8″ frame and athleticism hinted at huge upside.

Said upside never materialized in Cincinnati. Hunt played four seasons with the Bengals, failing to break into the rotation much and recording 1.5 sacks.

Hunt has flourished with the Colts in a different scheme, recording six sacks over his past two seasons.

The Bengals aren’t in a bad spot on the defensive line by any means, especially thanks to young guys like Carl Lawson and Sam Hubbard. Still, Hunt’s success after leaving the team is at least interesting.
