Former beloved Ohio State QB Cardale Jones cut from Seahawks practice squad

Former Ohio State Buckeyes’ quarterback Cardale Jones has been cut from the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. A fourth-round pick back in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jones has yet to find a true home at the sport’s highest level.

After starting just 11 games for the Buckeyes, Jones left and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills. Just one season with Buffalo was enough as the Bills sent Jones to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Since his time with the Chargers, Jones hasn’t been able to find himself into a secure roster spot, eventually being picked up recently by the Seattle Seahawks.

Now, Jones is out as a quarterback for Seattle according to Brady Henderson, a reporter covering the Seahawks for ESPN’s NFL Nation.

Jones made his collegiate name known in 2014, taking over as the starter and defeating both Alabama and Oregon to win the NCAA’s National Championship.

However, that success didn’t quite translate to his junior season. Given his 6-foot-5 frame and cannon of an arm, he was still seen valuable enough to be drafted though.

Overall, Jones may find a new NFL home, but don’t expect to see him starting anywhere for a good while.
