Former Bears RB Thomas Jones wasn’t invited to Bears100 celebration

One of the key members of the Chicago Bears 2006 Super Bowl team wasn’t on stage for the team’s celebration of 100 seasons.

He wasn’t even invited.

Thomas Jones has the sixth-most rushing yards in franchise history, right behind Gale Sayers, and he wasn’t on the list for the Bears100 festivities last weekend.

Thomas only spent three seasons in Chicago, but his 77.6 yards per game is second to only Walter Payton among Bears running backs.

The 2006 team put up nearly 27 points per game with Rex Grossman under center because Jones was the lifeblood of the offense.

Other members of that team in attendance last weekend included safety Mike Brown, offensive lineman Roberto Garza, defensive tackle Tommie Harris and longsnapper Patrick Mannelly, but apparently Jones didn’t receive the same honor.

His time with the Bears was short, but Jones left a lasting impact on Chicago Bears history, and he deserved to be in Rosemont over the weekend celebrating with his teammates.
