Former Bears RB Jordan Howard gets revenge against former team

While the Chicago Bears might’ve had revenge on their minds heading into Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles following last season’s Wild Card Playoff loss, it was former Bears running back Jordan Howard that got the last laugh.

Howard got to face his former team for the time since he was traded to the Eagles in March, and he didn’t disappoint.

While the Eagles ended up besting the Bears 22-14, Howard had a solid day against the Bears.

Howard led the Eagles with 82 rushing yards on 19 carries, including a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.

Howard admitted that he was amped up for a rematch against his former team.

“I just did a little more talking than I usually do,” Howard said, via NBC Sports Chicago. “There was a little back-and-forth with the guys. Everything else was normal. It was definitely a little strange because I didn’t really go against them that much in practice. They never really tackled me.”

The Bears drafted running back David Montgomery in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft as Howard’s replacement, and the rookie impressed as the Bears faced their former running back.

While Howard bested him in rushing yards — 83 to 40 — Montgomery was a big contributor in the passing game, amassing 76 total yards and two touchdowns for the Bears.
