Former Bears 1st-round pick Kevin White expected to sign with Cardinals

The Kevin White era in Chicago is over before it even really got started.

The former seventh overall pick of the 2015 draft, who battled injuries throughout his four seasons as a Bear, is expected to sign a free-agent contract with the Cardinals, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

White entered the NFL with glowing grades and whose upside was compared to dominant playmaking forces like Dez Bryant and Larry Fitzgerald. Instead, he started just five games as a Bear and was never able to score a regular-season touchdown with the team.

White will go down as one of the biggest draft busts in the history of Chicago sports (not just the Bears) and is one of the biggest NFL draft busts over the last decade or so.

He’ll have a chance to resurrect his career on a Cardinals team that has few playmaking options at receiver beyond Fitzgerald and last year’s second-round pick, Christian Kirk.
