Thomas McLaren submitted to plans to turn the Grant Arms into a home.
Closed for more than three years, the Stevenston boozer on Boglemart Street sits near the town's Lidl Supermarket.
North Ayrshire Council planners approved Mr McLaren's request to switch the change of use of the public house to a private dwelling with no conditions.
