Former Australia cricketer arrested and charged with drink-driving

  • Former Australia cricketer David Warner has been charged with drink-driving following his arrest in Sydney on Sunday.
  • Police stopped Warner during a random breath test, where he allegedly returned a positive roadside result.
  • A subsequent test at Maroubra Police Station recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.104, which is classified as a “middle-range” prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA) offence.
  • Warner, who retired from international cricket in 2024, is currently captaining Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League.
  • He is scheduled to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on 7 May 2026 to answer the charges.
