Former Auchinleck Talbot ace pens hilarious 'Buffs should have won" song in playful title dig at old pal

Kilwinning Rangers boss Chris Strain saw the funny side after a rival manager set his league title disappointment to music.

The Buffs boss is smarting after Junior football chiefs controversially declared Auchinleck Talbot West Premiership champions at his side's expense after the season was brought to a halt early.

The decision - based on a points per game average for home and away fixtures - saw Talbot handed the title despite sitting third when the campaign finished - 12 points behind leaders Kilwinning but with nine games in hand.

The controversy has made national news and after Strain made an appearance on Sky Sports this evening, former Talbot ace Gavin Friels - now manager of Dalry Thistle - wrote and performed a tongue in cheek song about the saga.

The song - which Strain has shared on his twitter feed - features Friels on guitar, crooning a catchy 'The Buffs should have won' chorus.

Taking a playful pop at Strain, Friel sings: I'm on Sky Sports but I'm not complaining, I'm not moaning, I'm just saying, The Buffs should have won."
