Former Arsenal star Sol Campbell has been announced as the new manager of Southend United, signing a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The 45-year-old was formerly in charge of Macclesfield Town during the 2018/19 season, but saw his time with the club come to an end in the summer by mutual agreement.
Campbell had a playing career spanning over 18 seasons, with five years spent at Arsenal following a free transfer from bitter rivals Spurs in 2001.
He went on to become part of the Invincibles squad, who went unbeaten throughout the 2003/04 Premier League season.
After leaving Arsenal in 2006, Campbell went on to play for Portsmouth and Notts County before making the move back to the Gunners in 2010 on a short-term deal. He then moved on to Newcastle United before retiring in 2011.
Campbell became assistant manager of the Trinidad and Tobago national team in 2017 before taking up his first role as manager at Macclesfield.
The former centre-back had one season with the club, in which he helped them stave off relegation having taken over with the side just three points above the drop zone.
However, it has taken the former Arsenal star just two months to find his next project, with former Portsmouth defender Hermann Hreidarsson and former Manchester United star Andy Cole also joining as part of his backroom staff.
