Unai Emery's decision to name five captains has been met with a mixed reaction to say the least.
The Arsenal boss refrained from naming a permanent skipper at the start of the season, instead choosing to hold off while he assessed the options for the role.
However last week he revealed the unorthodox decision to name a quintet of stars who would share the responsibility.
While Granit Xhaka will retain the armband, he's to be supported by Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil.
Supporters have been split over who should where the captain's armband for the Gunners, with many saying that Granit Xhaka isn't deserving of the title.
But former Arsenal women's star Karen Carney went one step further.
Speaking to BT Sport, she said: "I wouldn’t have picked any, I don’t think there is any captain material in that team.
“No one, not for me.”
Carney's view was echoed by Steve Sidwell who described Granit Xhaka as 'a liability'.
He said: "Nobody stands out.
“Xhaka, he’s a liability. Look at some of the fouls he does.
“You need your captain to be strong, well you need him to be on the pitch first of all for 90 minutes.”
