Former Arsenal star makes bizarre Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claim after Man Utd deal

Former Arsenal star Perry Groves has provided a bizarre reaction to Manchester United announcing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their permanent manager.

The Red Devils confirmed one of the worst kept secrets in football on Thursday when they handed Solskjaer a three-year deal .

Manchester United have turned their fortunes around under Solskjaer since he took over from previous boss Jose Mourinho.

From a club under the spell of Mourinho’s negativity, United have subsequently returned to the days of optimism thanks to their former star striker.

But it’s the Norwegian’s relative inexperience as a manager which has led Groves to say that the club’s rivals will be ‘delighted’ about the confirmation because he believes the Red Devils will not enjoy success during his tenure.

Three Manchester United players ruled out of Watford fixture

“Solskjaer has signed his new contract and all the United fans are delighted, but so am I as a Gooner,” Groves told talkSPORT .

“I don’t think they’ve got any chance of winning the title while he’s their manager. He doesn’t have the skill set or the experience.

“When it comes to November/December time and all this joy and euphoria has died down, our listeners can tweet in to me.”
