Manchester City have today successfully had their two-year ban from all European competitions overturned, the Court of Arbitration for Sport have confirmed.
City were charged by Uefa earlier this year after being deemed to have seriously breached club licensing and financial fair play regulations.
The Etihad Stadium club had ever-since vigorously denied the charges and any wrongdoing.
Now, City have successfully won their battle, meaning they will be able to compete in the Champions League next season without any problems or fuss.
However, City's success in overturning Uefa's decision has proven that former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was correct with what he said back in August 2015.
The former Gunners chief admitted that clubs are now in a stronger position than the authorities to successfully overturn decisions because of their financial power.
Back in 2015, in relation to City and French giants Paris Saint-Germain having their restrictions on spending and Champions League squad sized lifted, Wenger admitted that those two clubs were successful in their efforts to overturn the decisions made because of their financial backing.
The Frenchman said: "The clubs threatened to go to civil court - not only through sports [courts]. That brought a lot of insecurity in the decision making and Uefa so they started to soften the rules all a little bit.
"The last decision in July was about Paris Saint-Germain and then Manchester City and that opened completely the door."
On where that decision left Arsenal at the time, Wenger added: "Exactly the same. We continue to run our business with the same resources we create.
"We can always recreate the resources and they [other clubs] can put a hundred or two hundred on top. It is always like that.
"Maybe it will change here one day. It is not a shortage of money. At the moment it is a handicap to us because we have the resources, just shortage of players."
