Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre sends brutal message to Jamie Carragher

Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has taken to social media to brutally mock his ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.

The one-time French defender launched an unprovoked attack on Carragher over the spitting scandal in March 2018 that saw the Sky Sports pundit temporarily suspended, amid calls for him to be sacked.

Carragher eventually returned to Sky's football coverage in his usual capacity after apologising unreservedly for the incident, which saw him spit water out of his car window in the direction of a 14-year-old girl.

However, after Carragher was particularly vocal about his David Luiz's performance against Manchester City, the French defender decided to remind him of his previous indiscretion with this brutal tweet.

Luiz, of course, played an instrumental role in Arsenal's 3-0 defeta to Manchester City on Wednesday, making two high-profile errors and getting sent off inside 30 minutes.

Responding to a clip put online by Sky Sports, Silvestre replied: "We all thought the same after he spat at football fans but he is back ... spiting at football players! #jamiecarramity "

The tweet was responded to by plenty of Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans, with the Reds' rival supporters enjoying former player going in hard on Carragher.
