Arsenal Football Club’s former vice-chairman and co-owner has put his five-bedroom Mayfair house on the market for £11.95 million.

David Dein, who ran the club from 1983 to 2007 and appointed then unknown Arsène Wenger as manager, lived in the home for four years.

The Adams Row house was then rented out for about five years, with listings from earlier this year showing an asking rent of £10,000 per week.

Dein’s wife oversaw a total renovation of the redbrick period mews house, which is now being sold through OB Private, rebuilding an entire new home behind the original facade.

Between Mount Street and Grosvenor Square, the house now spreads over almost 4,000sq ft, with a double reception room, a kitchen with a pizza oven and a separate dining area with a retractable skylight.

There is also a private terrace with a living wall, a gym with a steam room, a double garage and, Dein’s personal highlight, a cinema room.

“I used to watch football there, that was my favourite room in the house. I’d very often have guests and family round to watch matches,” he says.

The keen Gunner and his wife also followed Tony Adams’ endearing turn on Strictly Come Dancing until the former England captain was ejected from the competition this weekend.

“He did brilliantly, he captured the hearts and minds of the nation. Jive on Tony.”
