Former Arsenal captain makes feelings on David Luiz clear with brutal transfer window verdict

Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams has told Unai Emery he must adjust his starting line-up to include a creative midfielder to assist his front three.

Nicolas Pepe, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette started together for the first time in the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, with two of the trio finding the back of the net.

However, Arsenal struggled to provide service to their front three with a midfield selection of Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira lacking creativity.

As such, Adams believes that Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos must be a regular fixture in the starting line-up in order to get the best out of his attacking stars.

"We’ve just got to sort out the other end of the pitch, really. All over the place. We’re not pulling the strings, we’re not feeding the front three," he told Premier League Productions.

"If we can get the ball into the front three you can see what they can do. Then just hope for the best at the back, I think that’s all you can do with this mob.

"Ceballos coming on started to make us tick, I think he was impressive. Just because you’ve got the three strikers, you need someone to link it.

"Actually, if we got a good back four in place we’d be going places, I think. That’s the problem, I was disappointed in the summer that we didn’t get someone, or two big, strong defenders.

"Because you’ve seen up the other end they are scoring goals for fun."
