Arsene Wenger to AC Milan latest: Former Arsenal boss in 'advanced talks' to replace Gennaro Gattuso

Arsene Wenger has been linked with a return to management at AC Milan.

Current Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso is under scrutiny, with his team fourth in Serie A — 10 points adrift of leaders Juventus — and second in Europa League Group F behind Real Betis, with reports in France suggesting former Arsenal manager Wenger has been in talks with the club for several weeks ahead of a proposed return to management in the New Year.

Ex-Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis, with whom Wenger endured a fraught relationship at times, is due to take up his post as Milan CEO in December.

Wenger’s agent did not respond when contacted by Standard Sport this morning.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette believes Matteo Guendouzi has had to grow up fast in acclimatising to life at Arsenal. The 19-year-old moved to north London for £7million from Lorient in July.

Fellow Frenchman Lacazette said: “He’s young and maybe when he signed he didn’t know too much about the professional life at a big club, so we had to help him with some things.”
