Former Apprentice winner Tim Campbell to replace Claude Littner in new series

Lord Sugar’s right-hand man, Claude Littner will not appear in the latest series of The Apprentice after a serious biking accident.

Instead, Tim Campbell, who won the programme in its first series, will take over as aide.

In April 2021 Claude injured himself in a cycling accident, which resulted in doctors nearly amputating his right leg. Claude has had nine surgeries on his leg and will be having another one on July 19.

Lord Sugar has remained in regular contact with his close friend and hopes to see Claude back in the boardroom “very soon”.

Claude who took over from Nick Hewer as aide in 2015 said: “Whilst I’m disappointed that I won’t be out and about covering the tasks or in the boardroom for this upcoming series, I’ll most definitely be glued to the action from my sofa.”

Tim was Lord Sugar’s first winner of The Apprentice, back in 2005. Since then he has worked for Lord Sugar’s business Amstrad and set up Bright Idea Trust, a charity that helps young entrepreneurs, and was awarded an MBE in 2012.

Currently, Tim runs his own digital marketing agency, Marketing Runner, and will be joining Lady Karren Brady as Lord Sugar's eyes and ears in the programme.

It has been nearly two years since The Apprentice was last on our screens and the business show is set to return in early 2022.

The Apprentice will be aired on BBC1 early next year.
