Thiruvananthapuram: K M Shajahan, former private secretary of V S Achuthanandan, has wrote to chief secretary V P Joy, seeking disciplinary action against CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s former principal secretary M Sivasankar for writing a book justifying himself and the CM in connection with the gold smuggling case.
The book, written without prior permission from the government, has violated several provisions in the All India Services (conduct) Rules 1968, the letter said.
Sivasankar, who is currently the principal secretary of sports and youth welfare, had written a book titled ‘Aswathamavu Verum Oru Aana’ in February2022.
The letter said the official failed to follow the rule that officials should keep political neutrality and should not make public communication which is capable of embarrassing the relations between the central government and the state government.tnn
