Former AFL player Ryan Crowley has faced Perth Magistrates Court after being charged with allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend and former Married At First Sight (MAFS) participant Lauren Dunn.
Per ABC News, the former Fremantle Dockers player is facing nine charges — including aggravated assault, deprivation of liberty, making threats and impeding another person’s breathing — after he allegedly choked and threatened Dunn in Claremont earlier this week.
During the 41-year-old’s hearing, the police prosecutor presented photos to Magistrate Adam Hills-Wright of the injuries Dunn allegedly sustained from Crowley, noting bruising to her wrist, chest, and her nail being “ripped off a finger”.

The police prosecutor also told the court that the Crowley’s alleged offending was “too serious for bail”.
According to WA Today, the court was told that Crowley “disputes any physical contact between them, and that the photos of the alleged injuries Dunn had sustained were from an “unrelated holiday in Bali”.
“They are untested allegations,” Crowley’s lawyer told the court, per WA Today.
“It is hearsay on hearsay.
“I ask the court to place little weight on those allegations.”
Crowley was granted bail with strict conditions, such as reporting to a police officer twice a week. He also cannot leave WA and must not contact Dunn.
He is expected to return to court in July.
