Former 49er Dana Stubblefield sells Bay Area home

March 24--Dana Stubblefield, the retired NFL defensive lineman who played seven seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, has sold his home in San Jose for $1.65 million.

Located in the Willow Glen neighborhood, the Mediterranean-inspired Traditional is accessed through a courtyard entry with a fountain. Built in 2006, the two-story floor plan is highlighted by large formal areas, coffered ceilings and a wine room.

Other spaces include a center-island kitchen with custom cabinetry and a bonus room/gym. In all, there are five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in more than 3,350 square feet.

Outdoors, the grounds center on a gated pool and spa with a waterfall feature. Elsewhere is an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit and a detached two-car garage.

The property came on the market in October for $1.898 million and was most recently listed for $1.75 million. Adelia Douglas of Realty One Group Infinity represented Stubblefield in the sale.

Stubblefield, 44, spent 11 seasons with the 49ers, Redskins and Raiders, winning a Super Bowl title with San Francisco in 1995. Among his personal accolades were three Pro Bowl selections, NFL defensive rookie of the year honors (1993) and a defensive player of the year award (1997). He rejoined the coaching staff at Valley Christian High School last year.
