Forgotten your pound coin when you go shopping? Asda customer reveals tip to free trolley

Have you even arrived at the supermarket only to realise you have no pound coins for the trolley?

It's happened to all of us at one point or another and doing a full weekly shop in a basket is a tricky task.

So thankfully, one Asda customer has shared a genius hack to prevent anyone becoming stuck again.

The trick involves using a house key, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The customer shared an image of her trick to Twitter and alongside the image she said: "Life hack if you ain't got a quid for a trolley."

It involves using the circular part of the key to go into the slot where the coin or token usually goes to unchain the trolley.

Meaning as long as you have a key of this shape and you remember to take it with your during your next supermarket shop then it'll work.

Since sharing her tip, users have praised her for her idea. @booksandbards said: "This is incredible."

@reginagorrge agreed that the tip works and said: "Hah I do this I dunno how I discovered it!"

Another wished they've learnt sooner, @grendelsmilf said: "couldn't have told me this yesterday when I had to do a big Aldi shop with nothing but a basket and sheer brute strength."

Meanwhile @salad_pictures had their own technique to free the trolley: "I use 2 20ps stacked on top of one another if I have them but not a quid haha".
