Forgotten Liverpool midfielder agrees transfer to Brazilian team

Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro have confirmed the signing of Liverpool midfielder Allan Rodrigues de Souza.

The Brazil youngster joined the Reds back in 2015 - but never made a first team appearance under Jurgen Klopp after persistent work permit issues.

He was brought to Anfield for a fee of around £500,000 from Internacional.

But the 22-year-old has largely been out on loan ever since checking in as a Liverpool player.

His latest stint saw him have a spell with Fluminense in his homeland, but he returned to Merseyside last month to sort out his future.

And now a decision has been reached and agreement struck with Atlético Mineiro, who have announced a deal with Allan that sees him contracted until December 2023.

Fluminense was Allan's sixth loan spell in four seasons, and commenting on the move when that was secured last February, he said: "New challenge in my professional life!

"I am very grateful to everyone who made it possible to live this experience.

"I will do everything to give joys to this amazing crowd and conquer important victories with the tricolour shirt!"
