Forgotten Chelsea defender Matt Miazga has admitted that he would like to stay at Belgian club RSC Anderlecht beyond the end of this season.
The USA international, who joined Chelsea back in January 2016 from New York Red Bulls, joined the Belgian heavyweights on loan back in October for the duration of the 2020/21 campaign.
Under the guidance of former Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany, the 25-year-old has flourished for the Belgian outfit, racking up 26 appearances in all competitions.
This season's loan at Anderlecht is the fourth time that Miazga has been farmed out on loan by the Blues, previously having spells with Vitesse Arnhem, Nantes and Championship side Reading.
Last season, Miazga impressed whilst on the books of the Royals, racking up 24 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals.
But despite proving his worth in England, the centre-back was once again sent out on loan. However, the move appears to have been a masterstroke for all involved as he has impressed under Kompany's watch.
With his loan spell in Belgium having gone so well, Miazga has now admitted that he would like to stay with the club, opposed to returning to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to HLN, as cited by Voetbalnieuws, Miazga, addressing what the future holds for him, said: "Ask me again later. I would like to be here, but such a decision depends on several parameters."
Miazga still has just over a year remaining on his Chelsea contract, meaning if Anderlecht were to pursue a permanent deal for the USA star this summer they would have to offer the Blues a transfer fee.
At the time of signing him on loan back in October, no clause to sign the defender on a permanent basis was included in the deal, meaning negotiations would have to start from scratch. However, with the defender poised to enter the final 12 months of his current deal and him unlikely to figure in Thomas Tuchel's plans at Stamford Bridge, it is highly unlikely that Chelsea would put too many barriers in Anderlecht's way if they were to try and get a permanent deal over the line.
Since joining the Blues more than five years ago, Miazga has made just two senior appearances for the club, both of which came in the Premier League in April 2016.
